Tub of enlightenment
We are finally in peaceful Bodhgaya where the Buddha found enlightenment. It's a small town choc-a-bloc with monasteries representing the different streams of Buddhism. There are Japanese, Chinese and Tibetan monks all over the streets.
This time I am in the charming Kundan Bazaar Guesthouse that blows the Palace on the Ganges out of the water in terms of service and thoughtfulness to guests. They even provide a free washing machine and you can hang your laundry on racks on the roof. Most importantly, my room has a tub! Last night I spent over an hour soaking all the Varanasi dead people out of my skin.
Imagine how much faster the Buddha could have been enlightened if he had a bathtub and bubbles.
