Bye Mcleod Ganj, it was nice

I'm sad to be leaving Mcleod Ganj this morning. I'm sure the mountains of Chamba Valley will be beautiful, but I've gotten attached to this place. I love the cheerful Tibetan faces and how people here are more laid back. Other areas we've seen have been pretty frantic with people always at you.

It's great to see the streets full of monks and nuns in their crimson robes chatting on their cellphones or talking with their chums. I'll miss the Buddhas with their piles of offerings of 2 litre Fanta and Lotta Chocolate Cookies (apparently Buddha gets offered whatever his devotees really value).

This is the cleanest place I've seen so far in India - which isn't saying much, I grant you. They have banned plastic bags here and have a clean-up crew to get the bigger pieces of non-food garbage. The dogs, cows and monkeys take care of the food garbage.

The food here is amazing, which I seem to be saying everywhere, and the mountain view can't be beat. Oh well, Chamba Valley here we come. There is no wifi so you won't get anything from me until possibly Rishikesh.
